Advent, Isaiah 35:1-7a
Today is Monday the 10 December, in the Second Week of Advent.
‘What can I give him, poor as I am?’ ‘Yet what can I give him? Give him my heart.’ One Hope Project sing a setting of ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’. As you hear this familiar carol sung in a new way, can you give your heart to the Lord afresh in this Advent season?
Today’s reading is from the Prophet Isaiah.
How do I feel when I hear God speak these words to me, when I hear this promise from God?
Last week’s meditations were aimed at helping me to notice my own needs and longings and those of the world. Do these words from God now – does this promise from God – connect with any of those needs and longings?
Listening once more to the reading, I notice which words or phrases stuck me most or touched me most deeply.
What do I want to say to the Lord now, in response to this promise?
