Welcome to the Saturday Examen.
We begin today by allowing ourselves to settle into the grace of God’s loving presence…
As you begin to pray, become aware of your breathing…
Notice how you feel in your body… you might like to focus on something in particular, such as your little finger or a particular muscle in your arm or leg… Remember that God carefully created and cares for this part of you.
We will now hear a short verse from each day of our reflections this week. Notice which one stirs you most:
"Woman, here is your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Here is your mother."
I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.
I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness.
Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.
… to us the message of this salvation has been sent…
Which one of these verses stays with you? Take a moment to ponder it…
Notice where this week you have felt most fully alive! This could either be within or outside of your structured prayer times…
Notice where you have felt any friction, or weighed down by anything…
Speak with the Lord about these moments…
As we face the week to come, take a moment to ask what it is you might need from God in order to live and serve from a restful place of knowing you are beloved by the Lord.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
