Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

This week’s readings have ranged from a powerful king’s public prayers to God to private, physical encounters of ordinary people with Jesus.

In today’s examen allow the mystery of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit into your space.

Breathe deeply. The very breath in you sourced from God.

You might want to ‘spread out your hands to heaven’, as we heard King Solomon do in his prayer of worship to God.

Ask God to throw light on this, your prayer time.

When have you felt life and light this week? Stay with those moments. Breathe in deeply, reliving those life-giving senses. Breathe a prayer of thanks.

Have there been moments of regret? Breathe out your sorrow. You might want to bow your head. Allow the forgiving hands of God to rest on your shoulders. Stay in that healing place for a while.

What do you need for the coming days? Hold out your hands and ask. Simply ask.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
