Welcome to the Saturday Examen

Take a few moments out. Stop whatever you’re doing. Take some rest.

You might want to let your eyes rest on something: the sky, a plant, the flame of a candle, a colour, your hands.

Listen to your breathing.

Become aware that God is present with you, right here, right now. Unhurried. Just present.

Ask God to shed light on this time of reflection.

Where have you noticed God with you this week? Stay with those pictures. Enjoy them again. Give thanks for them.

Were there times when you struggled? Recall those times, bringing them to the intently listening ear of the Lord. Let God know how you feel.

As you look ahead to the coming days, is there something you will need? Ask God, simply ask.

Bring your prayer to a gentle close.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
