Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

As we begin to look back over the week just past, notice the place where you are sitting, standing or kneeling. Allow your senses to be flooded with everything that is happening around you. It might be pleasant or unpleasant. Don’t judge, just notice what is there. Enter into that sanctuary in yourself where you can meet with the Lord…

Now look back over the past week and recall the important things going on in your life. From the beginning of this week, right to the end, notice the places where you felt that God was speaking to you… where you felt a love of the poor… where you felt a love of nature… where you felt God’s mercy… where you felt drawn into the Kingdom of God… Notice where you just knew that God was on your side…

Let gratitude arise in your heart, and perhaps sorrow for where you let them pass by too quickly. Let those feelings you are experiencing now deepen as you stand in that inner sanctuary where you meet with God…

As we come to the end of our examen of the week, take a moment to speak with God about how the week has gone. Is there anything you need from God in the week ahead? Ask God for it now…

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
