Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

A central idea in the readings this week has been God’s insistence that he is with his people, with us, and will not desert us. Ask, as this prayer starts, that you might become more aware of how you have known God’s presence with you this week.

As a setting for the prayer, first let one example of God with you in the last few days surface. Stay with that for a moment or two.

Now, with God’s help, look back over the week and notice other places and times where you can now say “Yes, God was there too!”

What difference has it made this week that God has been with you? Speak to God now about how you’ve responded to his presence in these recent days.

In the week ahead you journey on to the promised land of heaven. God will be with you on this next part of your journey. As this prayer comes to a close, ask him for whatever you most need from him in the days ahead.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
