Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

Throughout this week, I’ve met with Jesus both before and after his resurrection.

As I still myself, I ask the Spirit to bring to mind this week’s journey and my encounters with Jesus both within and outside of my prayer times.

Where have I felt closest to Jesus?

What did I experience?

What do I want to say to Jesus about this?

I speak with him now, as one friend to another.

What has unsettled, disturbed or challenged me this week?

When did I feel resistant to God?


I tell God about these times.


Where have I sensed the Spirit stirring in me this week?

What growth in faith has this brought?


I give thanks for this.

In light of this week’s prayer times, what action or response to God will I make today?

I ask God for the grace and guidance I need to follow Jesus more closely.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
