The Feast of Ss Charles Lwanga and Companions | Saturday 4 June 2023

Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

I take a moment to become still as I enter into this time of Saturday prayer.

I notice the events that have led me to this time of prayer…perhaps stress or busyness. Maybe a planned time or a spontaneous time. Perhaps I am wanting to relax with the Lord for a moment or two. I notice what has led me to this moment…

Where can I recognize God’s presence with me in the course of my prayer this week?

Can I remember one moment, or a particular scripture passage or verse or prayer time that really touched me during this week?

Where did I feel a lightness of heart?

Where did I find it hard to hear God’s voice? Why was that?

I notice the events I will go onto after finishing this time of prayer – whether over the course of the next hour, day or week… what do I really need from the Lord to help me? I ask for this now.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
