Saturday 27 May 2023

Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

Today God is inviting you to share a time of peaceful space, to reflect on the week gone by and on your needs and desires at this time. Find the best way for your body and mind to become still, asking God to be with you.

God reveals truth to us in both light and shadow. How have you been aware of God’s presence during this past week and your response to it?

This week’s Scripture passages may have provoked particular thoughts, desires or feelings within you as you responded to them. What stays with you specially?

We are approaching the great feast of Pentecost. Have you had a sense of God offering you a particular gift, or of yourself standing in need of a specific grace in your life at this time? What have you found yourself asking for?

We’ve witnessed strong feelings in this week’s readings, which may have reflected your own. Has there been a sense of desire, of struggle or of regret? Perhaps you haven’t found all the words you wanted to express fully what you have thought and felt. Whatever your feelings at this point, take time now to speak to God in your heart, asking for the Spirit to give you whatever gifts you need.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
