Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

Take a few moments to become comfortable as you prepare for prayer.

Become aware of your surroundings…of your breathing…of your needs… perhaps to slow down… to let go of anything that preoccupies your thoughts.

In this first week of Eastertide, the readings have described encounters with the Risen Lord.
Can you recall which of these most touched you this week?

Take a moment now, to ask the Lord to prepare you to re-engage with these today.

There now follows a line from each of our scriptures. As you listen, try for a moment to revisit each scene in your imagination.

Suddenly Jesus met them and said, ‘Greetings!’ And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.

Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, ‘Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Mary!’

Peter said, ‘I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk.’ And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’ They were startled and terrified, and thought that they were seeing a ghost. He said to them, ‘Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is I myself.

Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast.’ Now none of the disciples dared to ask him, ‘Who are you?’ because they knew it was the Lord.

Which of these readings most speaks to you today?

Can you identify what is it about these words that has moved you?

Stay with them in prayer, letting them continue to speak.

Talk with the Lord about the coming week, asking for his presence to continue to be with you.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
