Saturday 1 April 2023

Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

Take a moment to arrive at this time of prayer…

Reflect on the moments leading up to this time of prayer today…

Just glance also at the tasks or events you will go onto after this time…

Then settle into this very moment, letting everything else go. Be here, now, with the Lord, becoming aware of God’s presence and gaze of love upon you.

We will reflect on this week of prayer, letting yourself become aware of where God has been moving or speaking. A time of repetition.

As a line is read from each passage of the daily reflections this week, just pause and dwell on one or two that prompt you to stay with them…

‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’

‘They did not understand that he was speaking to them about the Father.’

‘So, if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.’

‘I will establish my covenant between me and you, and your offspring after you throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.’

‘Sing to the LORD;
praise the LORD!
For he has delivered the life of the needy
from the hands of evildoers.’

Take a few moments now, to savour the verse or verses that are staying with you. What is it particularly that is drawing you?

How would you like to respond to the God of covenant and compassion today?

You have given all to me
To you, Lord, I return it
Everything is Yours
Do with it what you will
Give me only your love and your grace
That is enough for me.
Amen.
