The Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord | Saturday 6 August 2022

Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

Today is the feast of the Transfiguration. Three of Jesus’ closest friends come to a deeper awareness of who he is. Start this prayer by asking for a deeper awareness of the God who is active in your life at the moment.

First, quickly remember one time that you’ve felt close to God this week, and give thanks for it.

Now let the last few days play themselves out again before your mind’s eye. What have been the highs, and what have been the lows?

Speak to God of all that you’ve remembered here. As you do so, become more aware of where and how God has been alongside you in all this.

Finally, look forward to the next few days. Where you’ll be, and what you will be doing. In the light of what this prayer has shown you, what would you most want to ask God for as you move forward?

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
