Welcome to the Saturday Examen.
In Pray as You Go this week, we have been bathing in some familiar teaching of Jesus. Although perhaps well known to you, scripture can be received like freshly baked bread, offering nourishment for each day.
Can you recall a time this week where you felt fed and satisfied when you encountered Jesus in scripture or perhaps some other way?
Perhaps you can recall a scripture or moment where you felt that God was challenging you?
Maybe there was an encounter when you felt confused.
Or perhaps where something remained unresolved within you.
Take a moment to bring these things before God now.
Ask for God for his blessing on these encounters so that they may remain with you, and to bring light into those things that are unresolved or confusing.
As we end our time of examen and look towards the beginning of a new week, listen to these words of Jesus from the gospel of John and let them feed you:
Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
