Welcome to the Saturday Examen.
Wherever you are, find some space in your mind and body to slow down.
You might want to stand, simply stand, and let God look at you. You can do this in your imagination too.
Become aware of your breathing. Take a few deep breaths, inhaling all the goodness that God offers you in this moment, then exhaling slowly any worries that are taking up your headspace. Then let your breathing return to its normal gentle rhythm.
Consider your whole being. Allow God to accept you just as you are.
Think back over the week’s scripture readings. A series of encounters with God’s Holy Spirit - giving something arrestingly new to the disciples at Ephesus, deep joy to Mary and Elizabeth, remarkable courage to Paul, keen awareness of truth to Peter and John. How have these encounters touched you?
What would you like to ask for from God’s Holy Spirit? Allow that conversation to take place.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
