Saturday 23 April 2022

Welcome to the Saturday Examen.

All this Easter week we have been watching people encounter the risen Christ for the first time, and letting him explain to them all that has been happening in their lives. Enter today’s prayer with an expectation that Jesus can and will do the same for you.
Let all that has happened in these last seven days in your own life unfold again in your mind’s eye, and ask the risen Christ to show you where and how he has been with you. Then just see what you notice.

Pick out one or two moments this week that seem particularly significant, perhaps where you felt a special sense of God beside you. Take a moment or two to re-live those moments.

Thank God for the times when you have used well all that he has given you this week. Express your sorrow if you notice times that you have used those gifts badly.

Lastly look to the days ahead. What gift from God will you be particularly in need of in the week to come?

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
