Saturday Examen

Prepare yourself for prayer today by focussing on your breathing…take a few deep breaths in…and then a few releasing breaths out. As you do, draw your attention to the fact that God, our Creator, has given you each breath… that God has filled you with life…

Cast your mind back over the week… we have been nourished by the teachings of Jesus…we have been reminded how to pray with the Our Father… we have reflected on the cheerfulness of giving… we have looked at what we truly value and where our treasure and hearts lie… What has spoken to you most this week?

Where have you felt particularly alive this week? A lightness of heart or a stirring of joy?

Where have you felt a heaviness or tension?

As we end this time of prayer, place all of these recollections into the loving hands of God. Look to the week ahead with God, as you would with a friend, and ask for whatever you need…

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
