This weekend is Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of April, beginning the Second Week of Easter.

The community of Taizé sing Gott ist nur Liebe. ‘God is nothing but love.  Dare to give all for love.  Give yourselves without fear.’

This weekend’s reading is from the Gospel of John.

The Risen Christ comes to those whom he loves wherever they are. Where does he come to you or where do you need him to come to?

“Peace be with you” – hear him say these beautiful words to you. To those you will meet today. To the broken and suffering parts of our world. See them in your imagination; hear the Risen Lord pronounce those words over each person and place. What do you feel?

Thomas needs his own proof – he touches the wounds. He realises that Christ is real. The Risen Christ neither deceives nor abandons him. He confesses, ‘My Lord and my God.’  As you listen to the reading again, stay with Thomas; ask him to show you how to say, ‘My Lord and my God.’

Christ’s blessing, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”   The Risen Christ has already greeted you. He breathes on you, on the Church, on this world in which we all live.  Where is he sending you today? To whom is he sending you today? What gift does he ask you to bring?
